My most sincere apologies for being so behind on posting this blog. I have recently started back to work and I am adjusting to this new schedule. My time online has been significantly influenced by the hours that I am working. But enough with the excuses.

It would seem that I put my foot in this week with the show. Murf and Damon have elected for me to put together the music for the first half of the show AND to run the boards for at least half an hour. Well on my way to becoming a certified programmer with KZUM. Woot!

So I have been busy with planning what to play during the show. I am seriously thinking that I should just go ahead and put together enough music for the whole show and see what happens. Who knows, Murf may decide to let me sit behind the boards for the bulk of that morning. /crosses fingers and hopes/ Not sure which way I should be hoping there. LOL

Between the music selections and the other things that we would like to be doing for the program, I think I have my work cut out for me for the 26^th. I make no promises, but I plan to have our tidbits and quotes going again as well as some world holidays and a brief calendar of events. We are approaching on August and Lammas, so there is bound to be some interesting things going on in the world of Paganism and Witchcraft.

WHAT'S NEW WITH THE MESS:

• Glass Wolfe sent us a wonderful CD, you heard some of it on the show from the 19^th

• Murphy's Magic Mess is now available online. For two weeks at a time, you can listen to each program of the Mess on MySpace. You do not have to be a member to listen to the show. Visit www.myspace.com/Murphysmagickmess and click on the video feeds. (Damon was a little over zealous when he made the page and accidentally put a “k” into the mess.) As the Mess is a music show you will not be able to download the program like you would a podcast. FCC regulations and all that jazz.

• Murf is moving her website. For the last several years Murf has had a website detailing the playlists and special guests from the Mess. Yahoo is shutting down GeoCities free websites, so Murf has to move. We do not yet know where she is moving the website. Could be an extension of the MySpace page or could be something entirely different. Stay tuned for further updates.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

• KZUM Grill-a-thon at Russ's Market on 17^th and Washington, Friday the 24^th and Saturday the 25^th from 11am-6pm. Come join programmers and staff from KZUM as they cook up some good old fashion burgers, hotdogs, and bratwurst and help support KZUM. This is a fund raising event for KZUM.

• The Pagan Alliance Network is hosting it's monthly Meditation and Divination Night on Saturday the 25^th at 7pm. Phil is playing host for this event. Please contact him for directions. The Meditation and Divination Night is an opportunity for people to meet, experience a guided meditation and practice with their divining skills.

• Pagan-Musings podcast is covering the Pagan Alliance Network and its history on Saturday the 25^th at 10pm CST. You can listen live at www.blogtalkradio.com/Pagan-Musings, or download the show at a later date. Join RevKess and KaliSara, the founders of PAN, as they discuss the history of PAN, current projects, and future plans.

Greetings, once again! Thank you for listening to Murphyy's Magic Mess on KZUM 89.3FM in Lincoln, NE or on the web at www.kzum.org, and Lincoln Time Warner Cable channel 10.

I am going to show the two main looks of Damon, the Pocket Pirate a.k.a. Sir Fluff. the first picture is Damon looking all cool at the microphone with his dark glasses and slicked hair. The second one is Sleepy Damon from a couple of weeks ago. Poor man came in tired off his feet, bedraggled and barely dressed - that is, he was dressed by not as dressed as Damon usually. Too bad I didn't get a picture of him in his kilt from last week! Will have to see if we can catch him in that again. Ooolahlah!

Unfortunately, I do have to be a good boy and avoid posting any pictures that could be compromising to Damon or the radio station. But that doesn't mean I can't take them! /evil grin/

As promised: Murphy's Magick Mess is now available online to listen to any time of day or night! Sometime today the new site will be totally up and running. Damon has worked out a way to put the show on MySpace.com, you do not need to have a MySpace account to access the show. We will have a brief instruction list for how to access the show for those who are not familiar with MySpace. Due to FCC regulation regarding music programs, we are only able to have the show on the site for two weeks at a time, so if you missed a program, be sure to check for it within two weeks of that date. It is being broadcast on MySpace as a video file, which means it will not be downloadable nor will you be able to put certain songs on repeat. But we will have playlists for the shows, going all the way back to the mid 1990's, when Murf took over from Cindy Clarity's Spiral Dance. There will also be a link to this blog and other related information. I am still working out some details with Damon and Murf, but we might have some rather interesting things going on with the MySpace site. So keep checking it weekly for updates other than just the show.

Announcements, announcements, announcements!
Tonight, Sunday 12th, at 6pm is the Open Full Moon Circle hosted by the Order of the Red Grail, Church for transformational Wicca at the Unitarian Church at 6300 A Street. The meet and greet portion of the evening begins at 6pm with the Circle to follow at 7pm. All are welcome and there is no charge for this event.

Thursday, July 16th, at 7pm is this month's DolphinMoon Coven Seeker Class hosted by DolphinMoon Coven at Phil's apartment. This month's topic is Comparative Religions. Check-in starts at 6:30pm and meditation is at 7pm. New students or curious individuals are welcome. Please contact Phil for more information or call 402-202-9676.

Saturday, July 18th, at 7pm is the next Discussion Group meeting for the Pagan Alliance Network, hosted by Julia in the Belmont area of Lincoln. This week's topic is Portable Altars, what are they and how do you make them? Check-in begins at 6:30 and meditation starts at 7pm. New faces are welcome!
