Witches and Druids and PIrates, oh my!

Greetings and Blessings Upon You! thank you for listening to Murphy's Magick Mess this foggy morning. Looking out the studio window, we see a bit of skyline, but lots of fog and mist to gaze through. Almost makes me think of gazing into a scrying bowl. Just what are people doing out there today? Oh, look! There is someone listening to KZUM and enjoy the variety of music we have to offer. The Mess is just one of many programs for your listening pleasure.

We want to apologize to our online listeners, the streaming audio has been out since sometime last night. It is a problem on the server's end, nothing that we could do about it at the station.

We were without Sir Fluffy Bunny (Damon) this morning. He's been off preparing for Ostara and being a pirate. Do those two ideas mix? I don't know, but it is Damon.

One of our favorite CD's here at the Mess, Om Gaia by Terri Liles Mason, has been nominated for best vocal album and best new age and meditation CD of the year by internet and radio broadcasters. The artist herself has been nominated as best new artist of the year. We are very thrilled to be hearing about that. We have played the title track a number of times over the last several months and can't seem to get enough of it. One of my Trad Sisters in Colorado enjoyed hearing it so much that she called me one morning after the show a few months ago and went "I want!" So I gave her the info on how to order the CD and she went on line and ordered it right away. We are definitely looking forward to hearing more new stuff from Terri Liles Mason in the near future.

Tomorrow starts the Spring 2010 Pledge Drive. We certainly hope to hear from many of our listeners during the pledge drive at KZUM. Murf, Damon, and myself, along with helpers, will be taking calls Sunday the 7th and the 14th during the Mess. And remember, you can always visit the KZUM website to make a pledge.

The song you were asking about is One True God by Kathy Mar off of her My Favorite Sings album. It is available through Amazon.com.
  2. We are already beginning to collect pledges for KZUM's Spring Pledge Drive. You can go to KZUM's website and pledge online, call the station at any time to make a pledge (especially during the Mess), or wait for the pledge drive to officially start on the 1st of March and make your pledge then. Either way you do it, when you make your pledge, be sure to tell them it is for Murphy's Magic Mess. your pledges and donations go to support all programming on KZUM, not just the Mess. But by mentioning our show, you tell the station that you enjoy the diversity of programming that KZUM offers. Why not go right over to www.kzum.org and click on the pledge link right now?
I think that sums it up for today. Thank you for listening to Murphy's Magic Mess on KZUM-HD Lincoln or on the web at KZUM.org. Stay tuned for our Pirates classics and new music coming your way during the month of March.

June 28, 2009

Greetings, my friends! Sorry I have been somewhat absent from blogging and from the show during the month of June. After the Earth Spirit Celebration my life kind of went off in a different direction for a little while. But we shall just have to wait and see what comes into my life next.

We did have another wonderful show, despite Damon being so very tired. Heh. For a change I wasn't the one dragging myself in at the last minute and being barely coherent during the show. It is good to see that I am not the only one who suffers from the lack of sleep issue sometimes.

As this weeks show fell between Midsummer and the 4th of July, Murf decided to pay tribute to both. So we played some wonderful pieces to celebrate the summer months and our country's independence. We played Pagan Solider from Dragon Ritual Drummers' Passage CD.

We were also finishing up our midsummer pledge drive. For the two Sundays of the pledge drive, we would like to thank Corwin, Larry, and Lil Jen for their pledges. Between the three of them we raised $175 just during our show. I am not sure how much was raised all together for the station, but I believe it was over $10,000. Thank you, all of the KZUM listeners! Remember, you can pledge anytime, not just during our pledge drives. Visit the KZUM web site and click on the Pledge link.

Next week is 4thof July weekend, and we will be playing some lively music to help celebrate our freedom. In the spirit of freedom, we would like to extend to you, the listener, the opportunity to help us plan our shows. We would like to do theme shows from time to time, and even with our very creative imaginations, we need more than just three heads to come up with some ideas. You can email me at dorian.nos@gmail.com or call the radio station (402-474-5086) during the show to give us suggestions.

Again, thank you for listening! -Phil

Wonderful time with Thunder

Hey all, I had a wonderful time with the ladies of Thunder on the Plains Thursday night. They are great peeps! It was too bad Damon got sick and couldn't join us for the fun. But we did have the squirrels sent in by Steph and Amanda. Thanks for listening! Those girls are crazy, but I am related to at least one of them. ;)

We didn't get any pledges, rotten luck. But it was fun nonetheless. I've got some great, as you can see here. the Squirrels really took over the boards.

Again, thank you all for listening to Thunder on the Plains!

March 8, 2009 - I won't be on air

Hello, everyone. Just thought I would pop in and let you all know that I will not be on the air this weekend. I am going to be up in Sioux City, IA at a festival hosted by Namaste, a new store in the area. Jolyn, the owner of Namaste, is hosting the Mind~Body~Spirit Expo this Sunday from 10am-7pm at the Bellevue Dancehall.

I will be upstairs in the reader's area doing past life insight and other intuitive readings. I will be back on the air come the 15th.

In the meantime, please remember that KZUM is having a pledge drive beginning on March 4th and running through the 13th. Feel free to make a pledge, either through the web site or by calling them at 402-474-5086. Any amount is helpful, so give them a call or drop them a line! Remember when you do so to say you wish to make the pledge for Murphy's Magic Mess. Each pledge that goes under that show is another pledge to help assure that we keep Pagan music on the air.
